Women’s wrestling is in a pretty good place right now. Across all companies, big and small, there’s a plethora of talented women out there. That’s why I’d like to showcase some women not signed to a major company who I believe are currently killing it on the indies.
One thing AEW has always excelled at is tag team wrestling. In the early days of the company, the tag division served as its backbone. Teams like Private Party, The Young Bucks, The Lucha Bros, and SoCal Uncensored served as faces of the division for a time. Today, the makeup of the division is vastly different, and it just might be the best it's ever been.
One of my favorite matches this year was the dog collar match between Dani Luna and Hyan at DPW Forever. It was the first time I’d watched a women’s dog collar match. It was exciting and brutal to watch. With this being one of the year’s best matches and the rumors circulating about AEW doing another dog collar match, I thought I’d revisit what’s considered the first women’s dog collar match.
Currently, I'm still riding the high of being at the 2300 Arena for AEW Dynamite this week. It was always a dream of mine to go to a show here one day, and it sure didn't disappoint. So, here's a recap of everything I saw and remember.
